Maybellne Fit Me Foundation Review (Dry Skin)

Although the new year has kicked in I'm still continuing the hunt from last year to find the perfect foundation. Having dry and sensitive skin can be a pain. Us girls need a foundation that slides over the scabby patches but doesn't have a meltdown at the first sign of heat. The new(ish) foundation from Maybelline is based around a translucent gel formula to create an even and flawless finish. I found that in the UK there is a number of shades available to match any skin tone, I purchased shade 115 Ivory.

The packaging is elegant for the small price tag of £7.99 and stands out against the other high street foundation's. It's robust and would be a good companion for travelling or throwing in to the deep dark depths of a handbag. Thankfully there is a pump to release the foundation as the consistency reminds me of water. Maybe a slight exaggeration but the Maybelline Fit Me is definitely not the texture of gel. I have tried a few methods of application and found The Real Techniques Expert Face Brush to be the best tool. The foundation blends seamlessly with ample time to play with. Saying this it takes a small lifetime to dry which is great for beginners but not so good if your rushing. The foundation doesn't cling to my ugly bits and creates an almost perfect flawless matte finish.

After a hard days wear I find my forehead to feel quite greasy so I don't think this would be suitable for someone with extremely oily skin, this was fixed with a little pressed powder. However the rest of my skin loves this stuff and I can wear with trust from morning to night. I really feel for the price tag that this foundation is worth a try, blends easily, medium coverage and lastability (is that a word!!) have now made this a staple in my new years make-up routine.

Have you found any hidden gems? What do you think of this?

Bye for now

  1. I have this foundation and I love it! I have slightly oily skin and have found that this foundation works best with a powder. I agree that it is not suitable for very oily skin as it can get a little shiny throughout the day but still pretty good for the price. :-)
