Liebster Award #2

Hello Bloggers

A couple of days ago a lovely blogger called Alicia (check out her blog) nominated me for The Liebster Award. I'm honored once again and love answering the questions so here's Number 2.

Now from what I can gather the award is all about discovering new blogs and helping out people who maybe don't have as many readers as they deserve. The rules are pretty simple: you state 11 facts about yourself, answer 11 questions from the person who nominated you, nominate 11 blogs and then write them their own 11 questions.

1. I have a crush on Angelina Jolie

6. My worst habit is picking at things

Gillian Michael's Week one & two update

I failed.
Yep I am admitting defeat for now. For my first try it really hasn't gone well at all. At the beginning of the first week I was on a mission so I battered through it Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Tuesday came along and I was ill and have continued to be ill since. I've had a virus which then turned into a chest infection so bouncing around to Gillian's hard core routine has not even been an option.

Fresh start though this week. I am determined to hammer this DVD before I go on my holidays in one and a half weeks. I just wanted you to know I hadn't forgot about it. I've just not wanted to admit I hadn't done it :(

Fingers crossed it gets better from here. It's already in the DVD player for tonight. So here we go Day 1 (again)

Miss Glossybox September/October

I apologise for bombarding you with beauty boxes this month. This is my last and its my subscription to Miss Glossybox. This box is aimed at the younger generation and has a variety of affordable high street products inside. This one costs £7 bi monthly. So it works out £3.50 a month which I don't think is bad for 5 new or upcoming beauty products.

The theme of this box is Autumn. The box and bag this month are yellow bordering on a mustard shade.

What's in the box?
Inside the outer box is the bag that your products come inside this is embossed with the Glossybox logo and changes colour each time you receive it. There really good durable bags that can be used for traveling or storage. There is also a product information card.

Katy Perry Killer Queen Eau De Parfum
My sample unfortunately wasn't inside my bag. I just have the cardboard packaging. So I can't give you much information on the scent. I will update this once I receive the perfume from Glossybox.
50ml retails at £29.50 this sample is 1.5ml £0.40

JvG Soft touch Eyeliner
The colour I received is Black. I am so happy to see that this is waterproof. Eyeliner is the only item in my make up bag that I insist to be waterproof. One of my pet hates is runny eyeliner. I did a swatch of this on my hand and it is super duper soft to apply. I gave it a good rub after a few seconds of drying and it didn't budge. Happy? I am.
This is full size and retails for £6.95

Skinetica Anti Blemish Gel
You can never have too many spot fighting treatments when you have blemished skin. The first thing that struck me is the fact it is called a gel. This is in no way shape or form a gel. Water is more solid than this product. But that's me being picky. This GEL haha sorry, is aimed to soothe, calm and banish skin blemishes. It states that you can see results in 2-3 days. It also claims to be a super toner and a great base for make -up. I shall let you know on this one.
80ml is £6.99

NYC in a minute quick dry nail polish
The shade I received is Times square and it is a vibrant red. I can't say I've ever tried NYC nail polish before truthfully due to the price. So I will be interested to see how this applies and wares.
BONUS- this item isn't listed on the card but I also received an NYC show time nail art polish in 002 Silverism.
Full size £1.79

Beauty Uk Posh Pout
This came in shade corally correct (deep coral). I was a bit unsure about this on first impressions but actually when I had a closer look it isn't bad for the price. It has a slightly minty scent and the texture is lovely and soft when applying. You need to apply a few coats to get a solid colour but taking into consideration it is intended as a balm. It's pretty good. Can't wait to see how it wares.
This is full size £2.99

Last but not least I received another bonus product which is a little compact mirror promoting Gabrielle Aplin's new single. I won't use this but its a nice touch.

What do you think of this box? Is it worth the money?

Birchbox September 2013

So it's another beauty box. Yes I am a bit of addict to a beauty box. There's something so exciting about getting to the middle of the month and receiving those emails saying my boxes are on there way. I am that sad person stood at the window waiting for the delivery man to turn up.

Anyway enough of the random embarrassing should be deleted facts about me. Back to the task at hand. Birchbox. This months theme is Backstage to real life "a backstage hero that will transition into your daily routine easily" I think this is again focused around London fashion week. In Birchbox you receive five products and one lifestyle product. This is usually some form of food or drink item.

What's in my Birchbox?
Inside this box the products are held in a little bag embossed with the Birchbox logo. You also receive a magazine and information card. Out of all the beauty boxes. Birchbox definitely come's up trumps with there magazine. It's packed full of product reviews, celebrity interviews and useful beauty tips. I have to say I usually associate this box with more body, bath and skincare products but this month they have really tried to put some variety into it.

Reverence de Bastien Nail polish in No.15
I've been waiting for a box to send out some new nail polish colours. I'm a sucker for a good polish so can't wait to give this one a try. I've never heard of this brand myself but its really expensive so hoping it lives up to its price tag. The colour I received is what I would call a midnight blue with an iridescent shine.
This is full size and retails for £16.00 (ekkk)

Bioderma Sensibio H20
This is a really cute little bottle and contains 20ml, which is a great amount to establish whether you would like the full size product or not. I'm still on the hunt for a good skincare routine as I really struggle to find anything that suits my type of skin. Birchbox have really tried to tailor this product to my needs by sending me the sensitive skin line. I'm loving the fact it is water based and contains very few of the harsh chemicals you tend to see in the high street make up remover's. This is a good 3 in 1 product which helps to cleanse, remove make-up and sooth skin. It a well kept secret at the moment for all beauty artists and very rare to find in the UK, Birchbox are selling it on there website at the moment for a limited time only.
250ml retails for £9.99 making this 20ml sample approximately £0.85

ModelCo. Party Proof Lipstick
This is a moisturising lipstick in shade Kitty (Rose Pink). The first thing that jumped out at me was the packaging . I love the bold  print and its a nice change to have white casing rather than black or pink. The lipstick itself smells really sweet, theres a divine hint of berry's to it. It applies really smoothly and I can definitely feel the moisture. Cant wait to try out this lipstick and see how it wears.
Pack of three retails for £15.50 making this sample £5.12

Aromatherapy Associates Revive Body Gel
When I saw this I really couldn't figure out what it was. On closer look it is a body gel to help promote blood circulation, even out skin tone and help to aid cellulite. It is a really good sized sample with 40ml to play with. The only way I could describe the smell is organic and natural. The gel contains grapefruit, rosehip and juniper. I shall let you know how I get on with this one.
200ml retails for £31.00 making this 40ml sample £3.60

Molton Brown Ylang-Ylang Nourishing Body Lotion
This is the matching body lotion to the Body wash we received last month. I really like this range they have a lovely relaxing smell to them both due to the Ylang-Ylang extracts. I'm going to save these to take away on my holidays in a few weeks.
300 ml retails for £18.00 making this 30ml sample £1.80

Lifestyle product- Green & Blacks White Chocolate
All I am going to say on this matter is Diet no more. Yum Yum :D

Box value approximately £28.00

What did you receive in your box? Have you tried any of these products?

Montibel-lo Gold Oil Essence review

I had to write a review on this product as it is amazing. Liquid gold, literally.
I received this 30ml sample of Montibel-lo  Gold Oil Essence from last months In-style Glossybox. I can honestly say that it is the single best hair care product I have ever used. My hair is naturally very fine and dry, as I dye my hair every four weeks (cue lecture) so I’m constantly using products that promise to restore my hairs shine. Unfortunately, most of these products make my hair greasy. But then I hit gold!

What's involved?
It contains two popular oils; Argan and Amber. These oils are nourishing, strengthening and protect your hair from the worlds nasties. Every time I use this oil I feel as though I've been to the hairdressers. You know that silky smooth, no fly away perfectly finished style that only a hairdresser can seem to pull off.  Bottle it up and its this. Another plus for me is the scent. It smells divine, slightly fruity with a hint of expensive. Talking of price this can be purchased from Amazon and Birchbox but is currently out of stock at both places. It retails for around £22.00. Hopefully it will be back in stock again soon.

How to use?
"A little goes a long way" is the best moto for this product. I use a pea size amount in the palm of my hand. Then like most oils rub your hands together to evenly disperse the oil across both palms and heat it up. Run your fingers through your hair, concentrating on the mid-lengths to the ends. I wouldn't recommended using this on roots as it will get greasy very quickly. Start light and build up gradually depending on the length and thickness.

If there's anything you should have on your wish list it should be this. Well worth every hard earned penny. I know I will definitely be re-purchasing. Forget L'Oreal  Montibel is worth it haha worse pun ever.
On that note I'm loving and leaving you.

September 2013 Glossybox London Edition

I was so excited to get my hands on this box. I'd seen it advertised on the Glossybox website and the box alone looked really cute. Since they started sending this box out I've been avoiding any sites that may reveal the contents from other subscribers. I really wanted this one to be a surprise.

The box is the iconic Union Jack to honour the looming London Fashion week. Inside they have designed a London inspired tissue paper embossed with pictures of taxi's, phone boxes, beauty products, tea and of course umbrellas. Well what else would you associate with England ehhh. But do the products match the packaging?!?........

Inside the box

I received five products in this one and the new GB magazine.

Eye lure pre-glued eyelashes
How good are these? Lazy-ness in a box.  Eyelashes are ordinarily a bit hit and miss in beauty boxes but these are lovely. They could be worn day or night due to the style they have sent me.  I have never tried pre-glued lashes, thinking they wouldn't have much staying power. So I'm really eager to try these out especially with being a brand I know, plus anything that saves me time is a bonus.
These are full size and retail for £5.06

Toni and guy Limited Edition Shine serum
Wow you got to love the packaging of this. Toni and guy teemed up with fashion designers answer to a miracle, Lulu Kennedy to create this shine serum. I love hair care products so I was really happy with this item. This is designed to help control frizz and give a lightweight shine. I've tried a few of there products in the past and they have always worked quite well for me.
This is full size and retails for £7.19

Be Beautiful Liquid Eyeliner in Onyx
First off I love the simplicity of this packaging. It feels quite expensive if you know what I mean. The nib of the pen is similar to a felt tip and really chunky but it does taper down to a small point. My only down fall with this is that it smells similar to a sharpie permanent marker. Which is a little off putting. I gave this a try last night and it applies perfectly. I left it to dry for a few minutes and then gave it a good scrub with my finger. It wasn't for budging, impressed!!
This is full size and retails for $14?!? Huh thought this was a London box.

Rimmel London Stay Blushes in Pop of Pink
This is there new Stay range which I did really want to try. I have a similar product from the wake me up collection also by Rimmel. I find liquid blushers work really well with BB cream's for a very natural look. It is really pigmented and a little seems to go a long way. The picture I took doesn't really give the colour enough justice. Hopefully it just gives you an idea of the shade I received.
This is full size and retails for £4.49

Elizabeth Arden Untrue Eau de Parfum
My heart sunk when I saw this. Elizabeth Arden is not known for making nice scents. I usually associate her perfumes with more elderly people. I also have a pet hate with receiving perfume samples in beauty boxes, on the basis you can normally pick them up for free at your local pharmacy. I have to say though I was pleasantly surprised. This perfume is actually really nice. On this occasion they didn't send a small piddly vial but rather a decent size bottle. The packaging is really sweet and holds 5ml. As for the smell it's a sweet floral scent. It's probably something I wouldn't of chose in the shop but I will definitely be giving this a try
50ml is £48.00 making this 5ml sample £4.80

So the value of the box is approximately £30 give or take a few pence for exchange rate.

Overall I am very happy with this box. Glossybox is one of my favorites and they really do struggle to disappoint me. I will do reviews on any products I feel I need to share with you at a later date. Please let me know if there is any in particular you really want to know more about.

What did you receive in your box? What do you think of this one?

For anyone that doesn't know, Glossybox is a monthly subscription for £10 plus postage. They send you 5 beauty products each month, these will either be samples or full size products.
They offer two other boxes:
• Miss Glossybox- this is bi monthly and is aimed at the younger generation (I am subscribed to this one too) This costs £7 every two month plus postage.
•Glossybox Women- this is bi monthly also and aimed at women aged 40+. This one costs £12.95 every two month plus postage.

My summer bath and body favourites

We have definitely now waved away the summer here in the UK and the weather has turned quickly cool. The nights are getting darker, and everyone has started the debate of should the heating go on yet or try and get a few more cheap weeks.
Even though the sun has gone there's a few bath and body products i'm not quite ready to wave goodbye too just yet.

The Body Shop Strawberry Shower Gel £4.00 for 250ml. Buy here
I can not explain how good this smells. Every time I use it I want to eat the contents of the bottle, but unfortunately on the back of the bottle it does state not fit for consumption! What I love about the body shop shower gel range is that they are soap free cleanser's meaning they don't dry your skin.

The Body Shop Strawberry Body Butter £13.00 for 200ml. Buy here
Once again this smells amazing and the scent lasts for hours. I tend to buy both a shower gel and matching butter. They really complement each other to give off a nice sweet smell. I find this really moisturising and sinks into my skin well. I suffer in the summer from dry skin on my arms and this solved the problem almost over night.

Soap and Glorys The Scrub of your life £7.00 for 200ml. Buy here
In the summer I dont know about you but I know I prefer to jump in the shower rather than soaking in the bath. What I love about this body scrub is it comes in a tube rather than a pot which I find a lot easier to use when showering rather than flooding the open pot with water. The scent is a combination of mandarin, rose, jasmine, peach, strawberry, and warm vanilla. Basically it smells really good. This scrub has a gel like consistency, and is packed full of tiny beads. My skin always feels amazing after I've used this, it helps me with my dry and skin and is excellent to use before fake tanning.

Anatomicals Spray Misty for me Facial Spritz
I received this spray in my June Glossybox and was a little apprehensive to start spritzing things on my make-uped face. I was really worried that it would make my make run, irrate my face or generally just be unpleasant. I am surprised to say it did none of those things and I now love this spray very much. This Spritz is used on the face to refresh and cool you down. I also use it in my chest and inside of my wrists. The scent of this spray reminds me of a night relaxant spray. This is due to the ingredients including lavender, mint, rose, and witch hazel. Now the sun has gone I have put this in the bathroom to spray on my face after a hot shower or before bed. The only place I could find this to be purchased online was ASOS but I think you can pick it up cheaper in other places. On ASOS it was £6.00 and can be bought here.
What products where you loving this summer? What are you trying next season?

D-Day eek!

D-DAY
In my dictionary d-day is diet starting day! Its that time of the year when I realize I relaxed a little too much this summer. With upcoming events and the other barred word (Christmas) I thought it was time to check it out, I got on the scales this morning and was not a happy blogger. Diet, fitness kick and healthy living is starting again this month. I'm on count down for my holidays in 5 weeks and need to get back in shape.

I am going to be starting the Gillian Michael s 30 day shred DVD. I think most people know her as the brutal fitness coach from The Biggest Loser USA. She scares me a little but I do love her attitude. Its a much cheaper option of exercise without the expensive monthly costs of the gym. I payed £5 for it from Amazon. It supposedly helps you lose inches not just pounds. There is three levels to work through. Easy, medium and hard and each level is 20 minutes long. Gillian claims that this workout is equivalent to several hours in the gym. I've heard its hard work but with only 5 weeks to get back in shape i'm willing to put in the effort. If any of you are curious my starting weight is exactly 11 stone or 154lbs and my dress size is 10/12 depending on the shop. I am going to do some measurements as soon as I get chance so will let you know those. I will be eating healthy and cutting down on my calorie intake. I hate the word diet and much prefer healthy eating as I think this what should be a goal long term. If you want to join in or want anymore information please let me know.

Please remember to diet responsibly, cutting out food does NOT achieve anything in the long-term!  Always remember to warm up and cool down before any exercise to help with muscle strain.

Have you tried this DVD? What tips do you have for helping with fitness and Healthy eating? Do you want to see what I'm eating?

Liebster Award

Yesterday afternoon, when I checked my blog I had a comment from the lovely Emma. She had tagged me and nominated me for the Liebster Award! Check out the blog for her answers.

I was a bit unsure about what this was (i'm only a newbie). For those of you who are not sure like me, this award allows you to nominate someone to answer the ten questions of your choice, they then have to tag/award ten other bloggers asking them a different set of 10 questions. The rules are as follows:

  1. THE TAGGED BLOGS MUST HAVE LESS THAN 200 FOLLOWERS.
  2. IN YOUR RESPONSE, YOU MUST INCLUDE THE PERSON WHO MENTIONED YOU
  3. SO THOSE WHO YOU TAG CAN RESPOND, LET THEM KNOW!

So the questions I was asked where:

Whats your favorite Christmas film?
Easy peasy, Miracle on 34th Street. Its the best bit about Christmas.

If you could change your name to anything what would it be?
Victoria Beckham if that would give me rights to her husband ;D

What was your favorite song as a child?
The first song I ever remember loving was BJORK- Oh so quiet.

Favorite scent at the moment?
Viva La juicy by Juicy Couture

Who is your idol?
Everyone is going to wonder if I've gone crazy but I would say Katie Price. If you can see past her boobs. She is a really hard worker that has multiple business's while looking after three children and one with severe special needs. She also shows that no matter what people say or do to you, its your life and live it how you want it. Dust yourself off and get back up again.

Who is your girl crush?
Angelina Jolie

If you could be anywhere in the world right now where would you be?
Right where I am, snuggled on the sofa with my fella, my woofs and my little princess.

What is your favorite beauty product you always use?
ummmmmm........ This is hard to just choose one. I have so many products that I wouldn't want to be without. But I am going to go with Soap and glory's thick and fast mascara.

Where do you see yourself in 7 years?
All I can think about when I think 7 years is the fact it will be my 30th birthday. So I am going to say drunk trying to forget the fact its my birthday!!

Whats your favorite pair of shoes and why?
I didn't know the answer to this as I love all my shoes as much as each other so I asked the fella he said my UGG boots because I live in them in the winter.

So my questions to my nominees are

If you could pick any career what would it be?
What is the best beauty tip you could give?
If you could turn back time what would you not do again?
What is your favorite Quote?
What would you say is your best and worst feature?
If you could marry anyone who would it be?
All time favorite lipstick?
What is your favorite film and why?
If you could have a meal with anyone dead or alive who would it be?
What was your most embarrassing moment?

Finally I have chose to nominate:
